If you have been looking for your zombie kill fix then this episode had it. I kind of wish they had like a 2 hour finale, but hey what can ya do.

I liked the fact it started off showing the zombies in the city then heading on out and it didn’t take long for some action to take place. Rick is not messing around anymore! People gotta lay off Rick for real. Even Lori! Jeesh c’mon lady.

We knew a few people had to go and Jimmy and Patricia were the obvious candidates. It was exciting to see everyone getting split up, but then meeting up again where they had left supplies for Sophia. Whoa Andrea! You go girl lol. Who was the hooded chick with the two no armed pet zombies… WTF! I know someone had mentioned the hooded sword chick around here somewhere…. Damon? Who is she? Pretty bad a** if you ask me. Makes you wonder why most people don’t have a sword to begin with huh

Rick had to lay the law down at the end there… everyone whining… c’mon people. And you also like being chased by zombies? Then today is your lucky day because you can do both at the same time and experience a zombified apocalypse – for real.
That’s right, Run For Your Lives has set up a 5K obstacle course complete with virus-spreading zombies attacking you at every turn!

“Protect your brain and run for your life. This is one race where your legs giving out are the least of your problems. Run For Your Lives is a first-of-its-kind event, one part 5K, one part obstacle course, one part escaping the clutches of zombies — and all parts awesome.
Runners will navigate a series of 12 obstacles throughout a 5K course in an attempt to reach the finish line — all while avoiding zombies. At the end of this adventure race, you get to celebrate survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and of course, beer!”

The annual run can now be done in more than 10 different cities throughout the U.S. Massachusetts, Minnesota, Indiana, Colorado, Washington, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Southern California, Maryland, Texas and Florida are all involved.

When the zombies take over, just remember to…..Run For Your Lives.

Season 2, Episode 12: Better Angels

The Walking Dead Season 2

Episode 12: Better Angels

season 2

Some major sh!t has been going down on The Walking Dead. Shane takes it upon himself to bring Randall out to the woods and kill him himself without the others knowing. Shane creates a false escape and manages to get Rick out in the open alone. Rick tricks Shane so he can get close to him. He stabs and kills Shane. Carl witnesses the killing and points the gun at his father, as Shane rises from the dead, Carl pulls the trigger and kills zombie Shane. I knew Shane was going to die, but I thought they would save it for the last episode.
So they’ve now brought up the idea that you can come back as a zombie without being bitten. This was in the comic and the theory was that everyone has the virus. Once you die, you come back as a zombie – regardless of how you perished.
Daryl and Glenn are attacked by zombified Randal. Daryl sees that he wasn’t bitten and that he died from a broken neck. This solidifies the fact that you turn into a zombie regardless of how you die.

I like the fact that Carl was able to understand that if he had killed the walker stuck in the mud, then perhaps Dale might have lived. Rick gave him a nice fatherly speech about life and death and ends up giving him the gun – perhaps to kill his father or mother, if he has to do so.

I didn’t mind Lori apologizing to Shane. In fact I think it was cathartic for her to do so. However, it kind of backfired and probably provoked Shane even more. It probably solidified his thinking about Lori and Carl being better off with him instead of Rick. She probably shouldn’t have said she didn’t know who’s baby it was either. By saying that, it most likely made him think he was the real father after all.

The episode ends with Rick and Carl not far from a mass of walkers. How will they get out of this mess? Season finale next week!!!!
Thoughts? Comments? Please share them below.

Season 2, Episode 11: Judge, Jury, Executioner

The Walking Dead Season 2

Episode 11

Executioner

Judge

Jury

walking dead

zombies

First off, I want to talk about my favorite part; the ending. That was the best ending of any of the shows.

What a brilliantly spooky and unsettling set up. Dale walking alone in the field, covered in mist and moonlight stumbles upon a dying cow that had been viciously torn apart by a zombie. The look on his face said it all…obviously there was a walker around. But where? He turns around and within seconds he is on the ground with a zombie on top of him. Dale is restraining the zombie with everything he has as it fights and tries to eat his face. The zombie’s hands proceed to burrow into his belly and tear apart his internal organs. Hardcore! The group hears his screams and they run out to find him unable to speak and pretty much a goner. Rick can’t bring himself to putting Dale out of his misery and instead, Daryl takes the gun and does what must be done. I found this to be very unexpected and my jaw had dropped from the get go. I have read all the comics and Dale doesn’t die until much much later. In fact, he dies a completely different way. I didn’t see this coming at all.

With episode 10 being extremely fast paced and full of zombie action, we all knew this episode would have more character interaction and drama. Not that that’s a bad thing.
The main theme of this episode was humanity. The debate was about the decision to kill or not kill their prisoner. Everyone was for executing the boy, except Dale. Even Carl wanted his father to kill the prisoner. Throughout the episode Dale visits a few characters in an attempt to persuade them into allowing the boy to live. Hershel, Daryl and Shane all disagree with Dale. After the groups deliberation, Andrea eventually agreed with Dale. It was nice to see this, since they had a close relationship earlier on in season 1.

The episode opened with Daryl beating the piss out of the prisoner. Perhaps this is helping to relieve some stress and anger?

Nice scene with Hershel and Glenn in the house. Hershel has obviously come to terms with the zombie-filled world he is now living in. He truly does like Glenn and is happy Maggie is with him. He gives Glenn his stopwatch and adds a great piece of dialogue “No man is good enough for your little girl. Until one is.”

Now let’s talk to about Carl. Damn, that kid’s stirring up some trouble, huh? First he sneaks into the barn and allows the prisoner to try to brainwash him. He then tells Carol it’s stupid to believe in heaven. He does this right at Sophia’s grave, no less. When Rick confronts him about this, he gives attitude. Later on, Carl goes off into the woods and encounters a walker stuck in the mud. He get’s point blank to the walker, basically taunts it by pointing a gun at it and not pulling the trigger. The walker frees one leg and comes within inches of having a Carl sandwich. In the end, Carl eventually sees that the zombie that ripped open Dale was the one he pissed off in the woods. Maybe this will teach him a lesson. Stop being a brat and listen to your elders.

I got the impression that Lori wasn’t entirely in agreement with what Rick wanted to do with their prisoner. But since he needs her to support him, she agreed with him initially wanting to kill the boy.

We have Shane still talking to Andrea about the two of them being outsiders from the group. I’m not sure how this relationship is going to play out. What do you think? Will they leave together? Will Shane convince Andrea to help him take control of the group?

In the end, we have Rick about to kill the prisoner in the barn. He’s flanked by Daryl and Shane. Shane gives the nod to pull the trigger and without notice, Carl shows up. “Do it dad. Do it”. He says. Rick couldn’t do it with his son egging him on. The prisoner survives another day. But how much longer?

Walking Dead Animals

Witty Walking Dead Stuff

Walking Dead Animals

Car broke down late at night? Didn’t care? I dunno…

The whole situation with Maggie’s lil sis was getting a bit annoying. I really thought she had some scratch and was totally turning into a zombie, but I was wrong. I knew Andrea was gonna get in there and let her do that, but hey now she wants to live so I guess that is a good thing. Poor Tim lol….

The battle with Rick and Shane was pretty intense, they were really pounding on each other. The 3 zombie pile up on Rick was great!! lol loved it and then Shane cutting his hand to use blood as bait was just as awesome. For a second I thought he was just gonna leave a pool of blood there and let the walkers feast and head out the back door. Of course I thought Rick was leaving Shane for a brief second, but knew he would be back. So was Rick looking down at those 2 dead cops supposed to be like him and Shane? Wonder if Rick really was ready to leave Shane there…. That zombie head splat was pretty sick to!

This whole thing with Randal is silly. I mean obviously he would prob be an asset to the group…. maybe. When the female zombie was on him he was kind of taunting her and that usually typical for a douche character that gets eaten at some point in a zombie flick! lol

I thought the POV of the camera while they were transporting him and using the headphones was kind of neat .

So I guess Rick and Shane are buds again, but from the brief preview of next weeks episode the conversation between Andrea and Shane say otherwise.

All in all a great episode. Was nice to see some zombie action and close calls with 2 of the main characters. With3 episodes left you know they are gonna leave us hanging lol

Comic Book Men Preview -

Basically Daryl is putting a beating on Randal to find out more about his crew.

The Walking Dead Casts David Morrissey as “The Governor”

The Walking Dead News

David Morrissey

The Governor

After all the talking and rumors circling the internet, it appears The Governor has finally been cast for future installments of The Walking Dead. David Morrissey will play fan-favorite The Governor.
In the comics, The Governor was one mean SOB. A very important antagonist, The Governor secured a small establishment in the town of Woodbury where he would capture lone survivors and force them to fight zombies. Rick and a small group of people stumble upon Woodbury where The Governor gives them a false sense of security. The Governor then shows his true motives and the sh!t hits the fan. After stellar ratings from the mid-season debut, the second episode followed suit.
Nebraska started off with a bang by bringing in more than 8 million viewers. That viewership broke Season 2′s premiere episode, which had 7.3 million viewers. Keep in mind that the show had stiff competition and was shown the same night as the Grammys.
Episode 2, Trigger Finger, had a slight dip in ratings but still had powerful numbers. 6.9 viewers tuned in to check out the second episode and totaled at 8.5 million including the repeat viewers. This is fantastic news and with the 3rd season already green-lit, we should be able to look forward to many more seasons ahead.

Trigger Finger

The Walking Dead Season 2

season 2

trigger finger

triggerfinger

I liked the opening with Lori passed out in the car and Mr Zombie about to enter. I hate being trapped! That would suck. I love how zombies just show up, but as dumb as Lori was for heading out she took care of herself.

The bar scene was getting pretty intense… will they leave… will they fight etc, but I thought it was pretty good and I just knew there were going to be walkers all over the place in the near future.

We have a bit more of the Carol and Daryl drama, which I think we eventually turn into some hook up! Im telling ya! lol Carols is the mom Daryl never had ha!

When Shane takes off to find Lori I had one of those “everything is falling apart feelings” that I usually get in ever other zombie movie when the end is near and pretty much everyone dies.

Back to the bar… Glenn was nervous and what not, but I didn’t think he was that weak and it was nice to see Herschel pop a cap in someone. You know the guys they were shooting with were nothing but trouble and will cause trouble somehow later. Now what would you do? Leave that kid impaled on the fence? At first I was like blow it off with the shot gun, then they talked about the hack saw and the knife! ugh! Now the other question…. would you rather get eaten by a zombie or have your leg cut off? Decisions, decisions, decisions…

When I saw Rick grab the leg I cringed cause I knew he was popping that bad boy off! Ow!!

So I thought Shane was right to lie to Lori and just get her back. This whole thing with Shane and Lori. I mean I understand where Shane is coming from. He took the place of Rick and took care of them. They were his family and now… well you know what is going on so its like it has to be breaking him mentally a bit. Like Andrea even said he is right about what he is doing, he just needs to present it a bit better lol. I do like Shane a lot and he is a huge asset for the group, but if he starts getting mental about how he has to protect Lori etc… then things are gonna go bad!

I liked the seen with Carol and Daryl, it just goes to show the Daryl actually cares and isn’t just a dumb redneck

I still don’t know what is up with the blonde daughter. Like is she in shock or did she get some scratch from that zombie and is slowly turning? We shall see.

Maggie is getting a bit whiny again, but I thought it was funny how she just leaped past Herschel to hug Glenn.

I like how Herschel has kind of come out of the calm old man and seems like he won’t take any crap and lays the law on Shane.

What do you think about Randal? Would you get him better and send him on his way? I figure if he is nice enough, has half a brain, and can handle himself why not hang around….

Back to Shane and Lori – I sometimes think Lori is being to hard on him. And the Otis thing… well I mean if he didn’t kill Otis Carl would prob be dead, but who knows if there was another way out of the Otis situation.

The ending of course leaves us hanging on for more! Totally seemed like Lori is plotting to get Rick thinking about killing Shane or getting rid of him somehow. The brief preview for next week looks like Rick and Shane have a little fight, so I am curious to see what will take place.

All in all a great show and of course leaves me wanting more! So see ya next week!

Preview During Comic Book Men -

Ha that was great! Well I thought they would show more, but basically Rick and Shane are at some school and Shane is about to shoot a zombie, but Rick says wait… cuts finger rubs on fence then proceeds to jam a knife in zombies head! Awesome!
